Over the summer, the borough invited submissions to name our beautiful new downtown sidewalk park (working title—Veterans Square Garden).  By September we had 3 finalists:  Everybody’s Park, Hometown Square and Dimond Park, and we asked newsletter readers to vote for their favorite by October 15.

122 votes were cast. 98 of those voters live within Media Borough boundaries.

The Results:

• Everybody’s Park:  4 votes
• Hometown Square:  18 votes
• Dimond Park:  76 Votes

Dimond Park is named after Bob Dimond, who was also honored this month with a plaque on Media Borough’s Walk of Fame.  Bob, who passed away last year, was a long-time borough resident and community leader who has been described as “Everybody’s Hometown favorite guy”, “a gem”, and “the nicest guy you could ever meet.”  To find out more about Bob see the Walk of Fame article elsewhere in this issue.
