Parking Made Easy

Update on parking kiosk installation in the borough.

Starting August 19, 2019 Media Borough will begin the installation of kiosks within the courthouse district to replace the current outdated meters. As previously mentioned, this will include: the Front Street parking lot, Front Street from Olive Street to Orange street, Veteran’s Square, as well as a portion of Olive and Orange streets.  As the kiosks are installed, signage will be posted to clearly state the kiosks’ locations and payment methods.

These kiosks will utilize pay-by-license plate.  That means in order to park, you will need to input the vehicle’s license plate into the kiosks and select the amount of parking time.  In addition, the kiosks will provide the capability for vehicle owners to pay by debit/credit card to park.

New Feature

Media Borough will launch Passport Parking, an easy-to-use mobile app that can be used to pay for parking.  The app was created by Passport Parking, to provide drivers in Media a mobile payment option for parking spots throughout the borough.
Using Passport Parking is simple; users download the free app, enter their payment information, zone number and license plate number, and start their parking session.  Once a session is started, users will be notified before their session ends, and can easily add more time from their smartphone without having to return to their vehicle.  The app also houses information on previous parking sessions and receipts.

Drivers can download the free Passport Parking app from the App Store and Google Play or manage their parking online at passportparking.com

Parking Permit Holders

Passport has also overhauled Media’s parking permit system.  Instead of applying for a physical permit in-person, drivers will soon be able to purchase digital permits online.  Monthly, quarterly and annual cycles for General and Residential Meter permits will be available on the new system.

Best is scheduled to start installation of the kiosks August 19th.  We will start at the Olive Street lot, complete Olive Street, proceed down the north side of Front Street in front of the Courthouse, Complete Orange Street, then the south side of Front Street, and finish on Veteran’s Square.

Permits will be available for purchase at mediaborough.cmrpay.com, in the very near future, for the 2020 calendar year.
