Media Borough Police Officer, John McCormick, was recently promoted to Sergeant within the police department. Congratulations and thank you for your service, Sergeant McCormick!
Sergeant McCormick has been with the Media Police Department for 17 years. He started his journey in emergency services in 1992 when he was 16 years old with the Lansdowne Volunteer Fire Company. A graduate of Delaware County Community College (Associates Degree in Criminal Justice) and Saint Joseph’s University. (B.S. Criminal Justice), he served in the Air Force for four years (97-01) in the security forces field (Military Police) and was stationed both stateside and abroad in Incirlick Turkey in Support of Operation Northern Watch in the late 1990’s. Sergeant McCormick is a fire arms/use of force instructor and has been a member of the Central Delaware County SWAT team for 12 years where he currently serves as Second Tactical Commander. During the course of his career he has received the Officer of the Year award 3 times.
Sergeant McCormick has been married to his wife Megan for 18 years and has two children, Colin 12 and Bree 11. When he is not at work, he is spending time with them.
