As fall weather arrives, it’s not too late to shop at the Media Farmers Market! Held every Sunday from 9am to 1pm on Edgemont Street between State and Front Streets, the Market is a great way to start your week. Our partnership with Farm to City has allowed us to support exciting new vendors this year and provide the community with a top-notch market.
Averaging about 15 vendors every week, you’re sure to find many of your grocery list items. Farm fresh, local produce is available from Robin Hill Organics and Kneehigh Farm, and Sharrah Orchards always has a wide variety of fruit throughout the growing season. Midnite Mushrooms provides many varieties of fresh mushrooms straight from the farm. Pasture-raised meats are available at Pasture Song Farm; Maiale Deli brings fresh, homemade sausages; and Gail’s Egg Farm provides vegetarian-fed eggs.
Breads, pies, pizza, and pastries are baked fresh by Jerry Da Baker and supplied alongside fresh roasted coffee from Media Bean Company. Wilson’s Curiously Good Foods has delicious soups, and Stone & Key Cellars brings amazing PA wines and ciders. Firehouse Donuts brings fresh baked donuts, and Mediterra has high quality olive oil and vinegars.
Other specialty goods are available on a rotating schedule. Fan favorite Neil’s Sharpening Service comes once a month to sharpen your knives, lawnmower blades, and more! Find PA maple syrup from Whiskey Hollow, fermented foods from Hazel and Ash Organics, local honey and jams from New-Bee Ranch, and Charmaine’s Cookie Jar has cookies and pies, many gluten-free. John & Kira’s offers gourmet chocolates; Miikana Woodworking has locally crafted wood products; Nether Providence Soap Company features natural, homemade soaps, candles and so much more.
All of this is available in an easy-to-access location with plenty of safe parking. The Market is also right next to the playground, so it makes a perfect family outing.
For your convenience, the Market does accept SNAP/food stamp benefits. Most produce vendors also accept the FMNP vouchers distributed to seniors and mothers on the WIC program (Midnight Mushrooms cannot accept vouchers). Please visit the Market Manager’s table for more information on how to use your benefits at the Market.
